The endoscopic findings of the duodenal papillary region are discussed with 132 cases, on which the endoscopic cholangiographies are performed. The longitudinal fold of the papillary regions are classified into 3 types, the expanded type, the nonexpanded type and the neutral type. In this report, these 3 types of the papillary region are compared with the findings of distal common bile duct. The results and findings obtained are summarized as follows ; 1)The expanded type shows the dilatation of common bile duct. 2)The neutral type also reveals the dilatation of common bile buct. 3)Almost of the nonexpanded types show nondila-ted common bile ducts, but it is difficult to negrect the diseases of the biliary system.
