Two cases of multiple early esophageal carcinoma without vessel and lymphnode involvement (stage 0) were presented. Case 1: A 64-year-old man suspected to have a gastric polyp at gastric mass survey received upper GI x-ray and endoscopic examinations. A superficial, depressed lesion in Im, 0.3X0.5 cm in size, moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma limited to epithelium, and a superficial depressed lesion in Ei-Ea, 2X1 cm in size, moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma limited to mucosa were seen in the esophagus. Case 2 : A 71-year-old woman was admitted because of anorexia and epigastric discomfort. Four years ago she had a past history of operated right breast cancer followed by postoperative irradiation. A superficial, elevated lesion in Im, 1.5X1.6X0.7 cm in size, moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma limited to mucosa, and a superficial depressed lesion in Ea, 0.8X1.2 cm in size, moderately differentiated squamous cell car-cinoma limited to submucosa were seen in the esophagus. Gastric ulcer was also found and its biopsy was classified into Group I.
