Abstract

We reviewed clinicopathologic and endoscopic findings in three cases of diffuse cystic malformation (DCM) accompanied by early gastric cancer. In the first case, three submucosal tumor like lesions were found in the gastric body. Those tumors were histologically verified to be accumulated cystic lesions in the submucosal layer. In the second case, there were multiple polypoid lesions in the body of the stomach. Those lesions were composed of cystic compornents in the submucosal layer. In the third case, upper G. I. endoscopy demonstrated giant folds in the greater curvature of the stomach, which were histologically diagnosed as DCM located in the mucosal layer. Our cases suggest that endoscopic findings in DCM are different individually according to the heterogeneity in histologic features.
