A 79-year-old man underwent gastrointestinal endoscopy due to anemia. Endoscopy showed a white depressed lesion, 6mm in diameter at the lesser curveture of the antrum. Histological findings of biopsy specimens showed squamous epithelia without dysplasia. However, the lesion underwent endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) because of no stain by Lugol's solution and of the high incidence of concomitant malignant tumors with squamous epithelium by many previous reports. Histological findings of EMR showed squamous epithelia of gastric mucosa without malignant cells. This patient is a first case who underwent EMR for squamous epithelia of stomach.
