Abstract

A 35-year-old man was diagnosed as intestinal Behget's disease. Colonoscopy revealed agiant deep ulcer with edematous round wall at the cecum. He was intolerable to corticosteroid, and both colchicine and 5-aminosalicylic acid derivatives had no effect. However, treatmentwith azathioprine(50 my/day) induced a rapid improvernent of gastrointestinal symptoms andamarked reduction in size of the cecal lesion.
