Abstract
We measured the size distributions of mineral dust particles in the atmospheric aerosol and wet deposition samples. Mineral dust particles were deposited by snowfall when an Asian dust was observed on 11 March 2004. We collected the mineral dust particles in the snow at the top of Mt. Teine, and segregated them in the size ranges of D<40, 20, 10, 7, 4, and 2 um . Bimodal size distribution having peaks in 2<D<4 um and 7<D<10 um was found in the wet deposition. Usually, mineral dust particles in the aerosol have one peak in 2<D<4 um. The concentration peak in 7<D<10 um of wet deposition would be caused by the collisions of mineral dust particle with the cloud droplets or snow particles.
