Elemental abundances of non-magnetic silicates in interstellar and circumstellar regions, and its requirement for magnetic alignment

Abstract

It has recently become clear that many of the non-magnetic silicate crystals have the potential of causing magnetic alignment when the crystals contain finite amount of paramagnetic impurity ions. The conditions for estimating the structure of cosmic magnetic field are discussed, based on the observed elemental abundances of circumstellar dust.
