Abstract
Seismic tomography revealed that the roots of magmas of several oceanic islands reached core-mantle boundary. We have been investigating to obtain the proof of core-mantle interaction with a tungsten isotopic tracer. It is expected that the core has a different 182W/183W from that of the silicate mantle with a decay of extinct 182Hf. We have improved tungsten separation technique. We can analyze 182W/183W with a precision better than one epsilon unit with a ICP-MS.
