Abstract
The SWEEP VENTS dive program using SHINKAI6500 conducted in Nov. 2004 studied hydrothermal systems in the Valu Fa Ridge, Lau Basin. Geochemical studies of hydrothermal fluids revealed strong acidity and high metal elements concentration. The Vai Lili field show significant decline of the activity.
