Abstract
Aerosol samples were collected at Gosan site in Jeju Island since April 2001 and were analyzed using GC and GC/MS to investigated an impact of emission from terrestrial plants, marine biota and anthropogenic activity. Here we will report the molecular distributions and characteristics of n-alkanes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, n-alkanals, n-alkanols, n-alkanoic acids, dicarboxylic acids and hydroxycarboxylic acids. In spring, the analytical results showed high concentrations of n-alkanes, n-alkanols and n-alkanoic acids, suggesting a significant contribution from terrestrial higher plants and possibly from soils.
