Abstract

It is generally known that carbonaceous chondrites contain several classes of organic compounds such as amino acids and carboxylic acids. In addition, carbonaceous chondrites also contain solvent-insoluble macromolecules, which is the most abundant organic molecules in carbonaceous chondrites. Although several studies have reported about the structure of macromolecules using NMR and degradative techniques, little information about the isotopic compositions have been reported previously. So, we report carbon and hydrogen isotopic compositions of macromolecular organic matter from 7 carbonaceous chondrites measured by EA/IRMS. Our results suggest that 7 carbonaceous chondrites can bebroadly seperated by 3 groups with relevance to the isotopic compositions.
