Abstract
"Present conditions and issues in senior high school geochemistry education" is the theme for this lecture. However, I have boldly changed it into "Science of Gold, Tofu and Hot Springs." I have had several opportunities to give a speech on that title in a senior high schools a university and in public. I just would like to emphasize that the title includes my own message on science education. I will be happy if any of you have any questions about the significance of my new theme. By the way, I teach only chemistry in my school. Needless to say, chemistry can't exist on it own. Chemistry relates closely to other scientific fields. I believe that the relationship between these field will be benefitted through geochemistry. I am confident that chemistry, once added to the viewpoint of earth science, will be a splendid, deep and wide axis of time and space. Let me introduce a mere part of the contents and the responses of the people. It would be fortunate if we can disscuss earth science education from the foundation of the above statement.
