Abstract
Our group had determined half-life of 146Sm to be 68 My, 34% shorter than currently adopted value, by producing 146Sm atom, alpha spectrometry and mass spectrometry. Crucial experimental problem has not been identified. The half-life was verified by cosmo-geological method; ages for Earth, Moon, and Mars were re-estimated using the new half-life. The new half-life gives different initial amount of 146Sm at the time of solar system formation and different ages. On the other hand, age of Moon has been determined by 3 methods of 146Sm-142Nd, Pb-Pb, and 147Sm-143Nd dating. Each age correspond one another within error using the new 146Sm half-life.
