Abstract
An ocean acidification research project has been approved by the Global Environmental Research Promotion Funding by the Ministry of Environment for 2012-2014 fiscal years. The target is the combined impact of global warming and ocean acidification which are simultaneously proceeding as the result of anthropogenic increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide increase. Participating research institutes will collaborate with their research experience and existing facilities. The northward migrating coral species, fishery fish species, phytoplankton are the major biological groups for the experiment. To estimate global warming and ocean acidification impact in this century, novel carbon dioxide manipulation techniques will be applied for the precise system mimicking coastal marine environment and the large scale system for fish reproduction experiment.
