Abstract
Here, we report for the first time δ13C ratios of C2-C9 α,ω?dicarboxylic acids, phthalic acid and oxocarboxylic acids in the ice core samples. The ice core δ13C values were -19 to +10 0/00 for oxalic acid (C2), -28 to +0.1 0/00 for malonic acid (C3), -20 to -10 0/00 for succinic acid (C4), -29 to -17 0/00 for glutaric acid (C5), -29 to ?18 0/00 for adipic acid (C6), -25 to -21 0/00 for azelaic acid (C9), and -28 to ?21 0/00 for phthalic acid. Shorter-chain diacids such as C2 and C3 showed higher isotopic ratios than longer-chain diacids.
