Abstract

We observed the evidences of low temperature smectite to illite reaction at shallow burial depth in the Bering slope sediments based on pore water chemistry, clay mineralogy, chemical composition of clay mineral size fractions of sediments (<2µm) retrieved from Sites 1343 and 1344 during the IODP Expedition 323.
