Abstract

Depth profile of iodine 127 and iodine 129 in soil is formed with different time scale. The time scale of iodine127 formation is comparable of that of soil formation, i.e., 1000 - 10000 yrs. On the other hand, iodine 129 distribution has been formed during recent 50-60 years. Iodine 129 was released from Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant accident only 3 years ago. This study compares depth profiles of these 3 iodines.
