Abstract

Suspended particulate matters (SPM and PM2.5) were sampled at Okayama every month and their water-soluble chemistry and S and O isotope ratios of sulfate ion were measured. Major chemical composition of water-soluble component is (NH4)2SO4. Sulfur isotope ratios are high in winter and low in other season similar to sulfate ion in precipitation, though they are 1~2‰ lighter than those in precipitation. High sulfur isotope ratio in winter seems to be affected by coal combustion in continental China. Oxygen isotope ratio of SPM is high in spring.
