The Ryukyu Island is a chain of islands, extending c. a. 1,100 km southwestward from northeastern Taiwan to Kyushu Island. Through volumetrically small, granitoids are widespread in Ryukyu Island. We aimed to study the age and source characteristics of the granitoids in order to assess the tectonic evolution of Ryukyu Island. New zircon geochronlogy of sixteen granitic rocks from Amami-Oshima Island, Tokunoshima Island, Okinoerabushima Island, Okinawa Island, and Ishigaki-jima Island reveal 66-62 Ma, 74-64 Ma, 17Ma, 11Ma, and 32-33Ma respectively. Sr-Nd isotopic compositions of granitoids studied show the similar value of granitoids in the Inner Zone of SE Japan.
