Application of geochemical tracers in oceanography and palaeoceanography and research trends in France

Abstract

France has a unique research system in Europe, and its organisational structure has a significant impact on the research activity. In this talk, I will first introduce the research environment in France, followed by the contribution of geochemical tracers to oceanography and paleoceanography, using rare earth elements, in particular neodymium isotopic composition as an example. Finally, I will discuss the research trends in France in this field.
