Abstract

Hg concentration of soils, taken from the south-east low peripheral mountains of Osaka Plain. Average Hg concentration of 209 soils was 135 µg/kg, and 25 soils contained ≥200 µg/kg. High Hg concentrations of some soils would be related to the Hg ore mineralization. High Hg concentration at or near the active faults than the surroundings implies Hg emission along the faults from the deep.
