Abstract

To understand the composition of the sediments, the chemical components are important. In the third ReCoRD program, "The Japan Sea paleoceanography and paleoclimate during Miocene (ReC23-03)", chemical components of sediments were measured by XRF core scanner before the sampling party.During the sampling party, elemental profile measured by XRF core scanner were used to decide sampling interval for each sample requests. We will present the usefulness of utilizing the chemical components during the sampling party with details and examples of sampling.
