Abstract

For the first time in CI chondrites, the presence of a xenolith was confirmed in Yamato-980115. Based on mineralogical and chemical analyses, it is classified as an L/LL-type ordinary chondrite, having undergone type 4 parent body heating followed by shock re-heating at stage 3 to 5, with peak temperatures around 1000 degrees C. This finding supports the possibility that multiple collisions of non-carbonaceous asteroids triggered reheating of the CI parent body.
