Abstract

Halogens (F, Cl, Br, I) are enriched in surface reservoirs, and their elemental ratios differ characteristically among these reservoirs. Thus, halogens are useful tracers for studying water and material recycling into the mantle at subduction zones. However, Br and I in igneous rocks are very low, and reference material data remain limited. We present new data for JB-1b, JB-2a, and JB-3a, in addition to the ten samples reported last year.
