II. Gene analysis in the offspring originated from several secondary crosses

Abstract

The results of selfing and crossing experiments in the offspring which were obtained by several secondary crosses are follows:-
1. In S₁S₁S₁S₁×S₁S₁S₂S₂, S₂S₂ and S₁S₂ pollens have function on S₁S₁S₁S₁ style.
2. In S₁S₁S₁S₁×S₁S₁S₄S₄, S₄S₄ and S₁S₄ pollens are functionable on S₁S₁S₁S₁ style, but there is a certation between both pollens. S₄S₄ is more functionable than S₁S₄.
3. In S₁S₁S₄S₄×S₁S₁S₃S₃, S₃S₃ and S₁S₃ pollens have function on S₁S₁S₄S₄ style, and in the reciprocal crossing, S₄S₄ and S₁S₄ pollens are functionable on S₁S₁S₃S₃ style.
4. Cross combinations with S_aS_aS_aS_b×S_aS_aS_aS_a are incompatible, while those with S_aS_aS_aS_b×S_bS_bS_bS_b and S_aS_aS_aS_b×S_cS_cS_cS_c are compatible.
5. The fertilities of cross combinations with S_aS_aS_aS_b×S_cS_cS_cS_c are higher than those of S_aS_aS_aS_b×S_bS_bS_bS_b.
6. On S_aS_bS_cS_c style, S_aS_a, S_bS_b and S_cS_c pollens are not functionable.
7. S₁S₁S₁S₂ and S₁S₂S₃S₃ are self incompatible.
