Examination of the Closely Linked Dominant Adaptive Gene Hypothesis as an Alternative to Single Gene Heterosis Associated with l(2)55i in Drosophila melanogaster
The second chromosome recessive lethal, l(2)55i, in Drosophila melanogaster is apparently involved in an extensively examined case of single gene heterosis. In the foregoing report we have tested and rejected the hypothesis that 1(2)55i might be closely linked to a dominant adaptive gene.
