Tribology is the Science and Technology of interacting surfaces in relative motion and of the practices related thereto. The term 'Tribology' was firstly written in the report submitted to the Minister of State for Education and Science (U.K.) by the Lubrication Engineering (Education and Research) Working Group (The chairman was Sir H. Peter Jost) in 1965. The role of report was important to all engineering. From old time many people made the experiments of friction. The history of tribology researches up to now is summarized.
