Abstract
We collected various commercial ultra-violet absorbers mainly for synthetic resins and tested their photodegradation-inhibitive effect for vulcanized rubber in the similar way as in the previous experiment.
Here too, we were unable to find out especially effective ones, but among them hydroxylated benzo phenones were comparatively effective, although they affected the processing properties of latex, and finally we concluded that the mechanism of photodegradation-inhibition of vulcanized rubber by a substance could not be attributed only to the ultra-violet ray absorptive power of the substance.
