Abstract

A quantitative analysis of 3-component blended rubbers of NR-SBR-BR was carried out by pyrolysis gas chromatography using a triangular diagram.
The samples were directly pyrolyzed in a carrier gas stream at 560°C. The calibration curve of the triangular diagram was obtained from the relative peak areas in the gas chromatogram of isoprene, styrene and butadiene which were the pyrolysis products.
The errors in the analysis of blended rubbers were within 5%, and the time required for the analysis was about 30 minutes.
The analytical method described here is a new method for the analysis of 3-component blended rubbers of NR-SBR-BR.
