Abstract
We performed vulcanized rubbers identification, by use of a commercial pyrolyzer attached to the entrance of the chromatograph, which is simple, rapid, and practical.
This method is applicable to the routine works, since it can be carried out with the same operating condition in about 20 minutes.
This method can be used the following purposes:
(1) Identification of most commercial vulcanized rubbers (18 different elastomers).
(2) Identification of typical curing systems, such as CR, IIR.
(3) Simple quantitative analysis of copolymer composition, such as SBR, NBR, EPDM.
(4) Identification of some typical plasticizers.
