Abstract

In the previous paper, the following equation obtained on the basis of an average molecular chain could explain the behavior of stress-strain curve of sulfur cured natural rubber which was reported by L. Treioar over almost the entire region of deformation similarly to James-Guth's equation.
f=kT (αm/2ln1+α/αm/1-α/αm-1/α2)
In the present paper, applicability of the presented equation was examined on the cases of peroxide and sulfur cured natural rubber prepared under various conditions.
Accoriling to the result of various experiments, the presented equation may explain satisfactorily both the extension and retraction curve of hysteresis cycles under various conditions.Some discrepancies, however, were recognized at the points of small and extremely large deformations.
