Abstract
In the course of tensile loading, an investigation was carried out the fracture behaviors using multi-layered angle ply FRR sheets consisted of carbon black filled rubber matrix and 6-nylon cords.
As the result of this investigation, it was shown that the fracture behaviors could be classified six fracture modes: the fracture of physical bonds, the fracture of fibers, the fracture of fiber-matrix interface, the fracture of matrix, the fracture of interlaminar matrix by interlaminar shearing stress, and the fracture of interlaminar fiber-interface by interlaminar shearing stress. It should be stressed that these tensile fracture modes were deeply concerned with bias angle. In the case of bias angle smaller than 30 degrees, the fracture of fibers, the fracture of fiber-matrix interface, and the fracture of matrix were prominant, while in the case of bias angle larger than 30 degrees, the fracture of fiber-matrix interface and the fracture of matrix were prominant.
