Abstract
The technical trend of automotive rubber parts made of Ethylene Propylene Terpolymer (EPDM) is discussed from the viewpoint of technical background of automotive market. This has rapidly been changed by the effect from the change in human's life style, interest in environmental preservation and the safe(ty) driving. This trend of automotive requires the change of performance of rubber parts. Parts for amenity will be expected to reduce its weight and gain the higher performance, and parts for driving mechanism will be expected to gain the higher heat resistance with reduced weight. And also, easy processing ability is going to be required to EPDM to obtain good cured rubber products in anywhere, by any mixing machines and by any operating persons.
