抄録
The network of roads shown in topographical maps indicate certain definite types according to the each geomorphology of the region. The writer points this out with a number of illustrative examples, and discusses their analyses. He believes that the evolution of roads in some place become clear by this analytical method and gives the following examples:
Roads of uplands:
Upland (fig. 1), coastal plain (fig. 2), dissected upland (fig. 3),
dissected delta (fig. 4).
Roads of flood plains:
Natural levee (fig. 5, 6), swampy land (fig. 7).
Roads of alluvial fans (fig. 8, 9).
Roads of sand dunes of coast (fig. 10, 11, 12).
Roads of mountains and volcanoes (fig. 13, 14).
Relation between roads and settlements
on Musasino Hill (fig. 15, 16, 17), on others (fig. 18, 19).
Analyses of roads:
Examples of special points of roads on Musasino Hill (fig. 20).
Examples of analyse of highway on swampy land (fig. 21).
