The problem how to grasp or how to represent climatic conditions might be one of the roost important and fundamental problem in climatology. We can classify the methods of representation into two groups as follows:
1. analytical method by “climatic elements”,
2. synthetical method by i) air mass and front, ii) water balance problem (effective precipitation), iii) climatic formula, iv) seasonal phenomena, v) sensitive climate of human bodies and vi) frequencies of abnormal water conditions. It seems that there have been some disagreeable tendencies to think that. to represent climates in various ways known or unknown is the climatology. But a method of representation is no. more than a problem of represen-tation. It intends merely how to express reality accurately. We can not regard it as the theory of science as itself. It may be enough to use a suitable method of representation according to each object at that time. The important is the theory which is applicable to the whole condition to be represented.
