It was pointed out that population geography was underdeveloped in comparison with other fields of human geography. Population geography has made progress laying stress on the study of population distribution. But more prosperous development in this field can be expected, when the techniques and the products of study in the field of demography are introduced.
The study on population changes has been one of the most important subjects in population geography, because of the fact that the extent and the growth of the population capacity (economic power) are the factors which fundamentally define the tendency of the population change. But, as regarded in the field of demography the population change is a consolidated product of the movement of elements such as birth, death and migration. Therefore, population geographers should notice the importance of those elements and should try to study the population change on the grounds of analysis of those elements.
The change of birth rate, death rate and of migration rate has a close relationship with the socio-economic structure of the areas, so that the analysis of actual conditions, structures, changes and factors of rates of those elements leads to a more profound understanding of our human society.
