Ibaraki Prefecture is home to various pegmatites and hydrothermal deposits, with a particularly high concentration of beryl deposits. Some of these deposits are known to yield beryl that can be called aquamarine, as well as beautiful elbaite. While some of these are of sufficient quality to be used as gemstones, their limited quantity and smole size make them difficult to process.
