The 22th Interriatlonal Gemmolgical Conference was held in the Grand. Hotel, Tremezzo on the Lake Como, Italy. The conference, held from 25〜29 September, was followed by an excursion starting on 30 September and finishing on 7 October. Some 70 deegates (from 21 countries), observers, wives and guests attended. The Open Session was also held on 28 September in Milano with Italian gemmologists. The excursion route took in the following towns : Portofino, Volterra, Pisa, Carrara, Firenze, Arezzo, Sorrento, Torre del Greco, Roma.
