Several types of novel isotellurochromenium salts, such as 2-alkyl or 2-phenylisotellurochromenium tetrafluoroborates (5), triflates (6-8), tosylates (9) and mesylates (10) were prepared by the reaction of the isotellurochromenes 1 with the nucleophiles in good yields. Furthermore, 2,2-dihalogenoisochromenes 2-4 were synthesized from the isochromenes 1 and SOCl2, Br2, or I2 in excellent yield. The spectroscopic studies of the obtained isochromenium salt derivatives are carried out, finally the molecular structures are elucidated by an X-ray crystallographic analysis using the tosylate 9 and dichloro derivatives 2. The reactions of the dihalogenoisochromenes 2-4 with nucleophiles (NaOMe, Et2NH) are also examined.
