Abstract
The genus Pterogoniadelphus (= Felipponea) is taxonomically revised. Three species, Leucodon brachypus Brid., L. julaceus Hedw. and L. pendulus Lindb. are transferred to Pterogoniadelphus. Five species of Pterogoniadelphus are recognized conclusively, namely, P. assimilis (Müll. Hal.) Ochyra & Zijlstra, P. brachypus (Brid.) Tad. Suzuki & Z. Iwats., P. esquirolii (Thér.) Ochyra & Zijlstra, P. julaceus (Hedw.) Tad. Suzuki & Z. Iwats., and P. pendulus (Lindb.) Tad. Suzuki & Z. Iwats. Descriptions, specimens examined, distribution, notes, key to the species, and illustrations of five species are included.
