The objective of this study was to verify the validity of the self-diagnosis fatigue checklist by comparing it with the emotional profile test (POMS2) and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) of the fatigue profile. In 2016 and 2017, 247 students (mean age ± SD: 21.0 ± 0.9) were examined for height, body composition, POMS2, VAS, and self-diagnosis fatigue. As a result of the comparison of the scale of POMS2 and VAS in the low-risk group, moderate-risk group, and high-risk group of the self-diagnosis fatigue checklist, the mean values of the 5 scales (Anger-Hostility (AH), Confusion-Bewilderment (CB), Depression-Dejection (DD), Fatigue-Inertia (FI), and Tension-Anxiety (TA)), and Total Mood Disturbance (TMD), and VAS showed a significant increase in the values of those classified as high-risk group in physical fatigue, mental fatigue, and comprehensive fatigue. In addition, a similar result was obtained for subjects who had been fatigued for more than 1 months, suggesting that the self-diagnosis fatigue checklist might be useful in the evaluation of chronic fatigue.
