Fuel Cell Vehicle is the nearest one to an “ultimate eco-car” that offers solutions to energy and emissions issues. Toyota Motor Corp. has been developed the fuel cell technologies, fuel cell vehicles and various applications using the fuel cell from 1992. On December 2002, Toyota began limited marketing of the hydrogen-powered TOYOTA FCHV in the United States and Japan. On 2005, new FCHV model was introduced to the market with the improvements of the fuel cell and fuel cell system. TOYOTA FCHV-adv. introduced on June, 2008, has following significant features (1)Improved sub-zero startup (2)Improved fuel efficiency (3)Great extended cruising range (4)Improved durability of the fuel cell stack. The performances of the FCHV-adv. is established close to the current gasoline powered vehicle. We focused the development to the cost reduction issue for the commercialization and the sustainable mobility.
