Abstract

Abstract In this paper, the practice of the Robot Contest using waste materials in Hiroshima National College of Maritime Technology has been introduced. Robot Contest is one of the very events of engineering education at colleges of technology. However, making a robot is not easy. Also students take interest in it positively. Such situation is a good chance to educate them as an engineer. As one of educational activities in College of Technology, its effects for engineering education should be evaluated. Robot Contest has an educational effect not only on engineering education but on engineering spirit cultivated by effort of trial, cooperation and sympathy for other people
