Abstract
This paper describes our design strategy and prototype system for supporting co-creative communication between remote locales. Specifically group-modeling interface system for building-brick play is designed and developed. Then we contrive a conceptual idea “Emergence Reality”, enhancing the presence of virtual object through overlaying virtual environment onto the interacting substantial object. Following this idea, authors designed and prototyped two interface systems. Firstly, the brick-reader glove interface was designed for measuring an interaction between hands and bricks, and for recreating the scene in virtual environment. The glove interface expects to support for predicting the action of remote persons. Secondly, synchronized rotating base interface was designed in order to feel an action of remote persons directly. The base is controlled to follow each rotational position of base. Then some experiments show this base enhances the presence of virtual hand on the base when remote person rotates the base.
