Abstract
To cultivate paddy rice, eating quality recently has become to recognize more important than yield increase. So, when a few dressing method emphasised basal dressing was arranged, the following experiment was conducted to determine which dressing methods to be more recomended in yield and eating quality. The results are as follows : 1. Additional fertilizer application on deeper layer showed the highest yield (ca.690g/m^2), heavier basal dressing the 2nd one (ca.660g/m^2) and slow release fertilizer the 3rd one (ca.640g/m^2) in these five treatments. 2. Yield increase was due to increase of kernel number per ear, that is, increase of secondary rachis branches. 3. Heavier basal dressing showed the best eating quality. From the above results in regard to yield and eating quality, dressing methods of heavier basal dressing and slow release fertilizer suggested to be more recomended in these treatments.
