Abstract
In Joetsu area, seed yield of soybean variety Enrei in the plots of four lines of narrow-row-dense-planting culture (low and middle densities) were not less than that in the plot of two ridges, when sowing took place from middle to late June after barley. Seed yield were increased due to higher pod number, leaf area index at flowering and dry matter production after flowering. However, lodging resistance varied from low to heavy. To prevent from heavy harvest work, it is inferred that development of new variety and cultivating method to develop lodging resistance is needed.
