Optical Waveguide Scintillator

Abstract

  We describe in this paper the principle of a new type radiation sensor called optical waveguide scintillator and a multiplexed sensor system. The sensor is combined a conventional scintillation material with a fluorescent converter and plural sensors are connected by optical fiber. The first prototype is also presented, and preliminary results confirm the probability of sensor multiplexing.
