Status of NR applications to Science and Technology

Abstract

  NR techniques applied to various fields of science and technology were reviewed. Basic NR procedures obtaining quantitative information for scientific analyses of objectives were summarized. Several typical NR applications introduced to material science and engineering, solid state ionics, medical and dental science, agricultural science, and cultural property were presented. Advanced digital NR techniques were also presented to apply to new scientific fields. Digital imaging devices such as cooled CCD, cooled linear image sensor, and X-ray Imaging Plate were applied to develop some promising NR systems.
