Abstract
The old Japanese standards for pressure vessels consisted of 2 principal standards, i. e. JIS B8243 “Construction of Pressure Vessels” and JIS B8250 “Alternative Standard for Construction of Pressure Vessels”. The former is socalled the conventional rule similar to the ASME B & PV CODE Sec. VIII. Div. I. The latter is the alternative rule employing the design concept of the ASME B & PV CODE Sec. VIII Div. 2. Besides the above principal standards, there were also other industrial standards respectively valid only for the individual products, which were, however, required nowadays from all industrial quarters concerned to be readjusted into one systematic standard.
The JIS Pressure Vessels Sub-Committee provided the draft of the new systematic standard, in order to cope with the recent technical advantage and increase of the international trade. The new Japanese standards for pressure vessels consist of a general standard and 15 individual standards, and issued in March 15, 1993. Hereunder the authors introduce briefly the abstract of the new systematic standard.
