Abstract
In response to development of high strength Cr-Mo Steels, welding consumables for these steels have been developed. Especially, welding consumables for Mod. 3Cr-1Mo steel and Enh. 21/4Cr-1Mo Steel have been used practically.
As for welding consumables for Mod. 21/4Cr-1Mo Steel, these have been estimated for practical use and ASME CODE CASE has been under review. This paper shows some notes on usage of welding consumables for high strength Cr-Mo steels, especially about importance of controlling postweld heat treatment condition. Also, it provides mechanical properties of the welds that ECM-committee of lron and steel Div. The Japan Welding Engineering Society ordered manufacturers to submit and be discussed.
